The Courage to Keep Going
Beginning takes courage. So does returning to what we began after the first excitement fades.
Aries carries the spark: the instinct to act, claim a direction, and meet life on our own terms. Saturn brings time, limits, and responsibility. Together, they invite us to give our courage a form we can sustain.

A desire becomes a practice. A promise becomes something we keep.
Saturn first entered Aries in May 2025, returned to Pisces that September, and reentered Aries in February 2026. Its passage through Aries continues until April 2028.
Giving the spark a home
In astrology, Saturn speaks to the structures that hold a life together: commitments, boundaries, skills, and the work of becoming dependable. Aries, ruled by Mars, wants movement. It reaches for the first step.
Their meeting can feel uncomfortable. We may want to move faster than our circumstances allow. A new path may ask for preparation we hoped to skip.
This transit offers a question: what does your beginning need in order to last?
Perhaps it needs a workable schedule, a clearer agreement, or a skill learned through repetition. Perhaps it needs permission to start small.
The fire needs tending.
Learning to stand behind yourself
Aries speaks to the right to exist as a distinct person, with desires and choices of our own. Saturn asks us to take responsibility for how we express them.
Speaking up may feel awkward before it feels natural. A boundary may be necessary even when another person dislikes it. A decision may be yours to make before you feel entirely certain.
Self-trust grows through these moments. We name what matters, act with care, and learn from the result.
There is room here to examine anger, too. It may reveal a crossed boundary or a need we have struggled to express. What happens when we give that feeling clear words and a deliberate response?
When progress asks for patience
Saturn in Aries can serve as an image for the tension between urgency and endurance. We want evidence that our effort is working. Some days, the work itself is all we can see.
A draft revised. A difficult conversation approached with greater care. A promise kept on an ordinary afternoon.
These acts build something.
Patience allows us to judge an effort over time. It also leaves room to change direction when a commitment no longer fits. Persistence has value when we understand what we are persisting toward.
Courage can be the small promise we keep after the moment of bravery has passed.
Returning to the beginning
Saturn is currently retrograde in Aries. Symbolically, this offers a period to review the responsibilities we have taken on and the foundations beneath our plans.
What did we begin because we wanted it? What did we begin because we felt we had something to prove?
An earlier decision may need another look. A goal may still matter while the pace needs adjusting. We may discover that the support we need is more practical than we imagined.
Return to the beginning with what you know now. Give the next step a size you can manage.
Courage in practice
On October 4, the Libra Sun opposes Saturn in Aries, bringing the balance between connection and independence into focus. Where do our commitments support us? Where do we need a clearer boundary or a more honest agreement?
On October 16, Mars in Leo trines Saturn in Aries. This pairing offers an image of courage guided by patience: creative energy given a purpose, a plan, and time to develop.
Choose one action that supports what you are building. Give it your attention, then return to it.
